Tell us about projects that you enjoyed or that you're proud of.

I signed as an artist to Moving Shadow in the early 90’s making deep film-inspired drum and bass. Seven albums and over 200 12” releases later and I’m still doing it. My most recent album “Last Refuge of a Scoundrel” came out on Goldie’s Metalheadz Label and won “Album of the Year 2016” on Juno Download.

How did you first hear of DMGAudio?

I first met Dave when he was working for Focusrite. I had emailed them on the blag for a liquid channel and instead got a liquid mix and Dave’s number. He always rang me to include me in his various beta projects as he moved around the various plug-in companies pushing his code. I was really pleased for him and me both when he started his own company.

How do you feel about DMGAudio plugins?

I love them like home. Dave makes the tools I use everyday to tweak the sounds out of my head and into reality. Having had his ear for feature requests for the last 10 years has made my passion for music and engineering more fulfilled and enjoyable.

How would you describe our plugins?

The best of the best. Built for professionals.

What are your favourite DMGAudio plugins and how do they integrate with your workflow?

I use all of them daily. Equilibrium is my EQ of choice, it has all the functionality I ever wanted in an EQ. Essence and Expurgate get a lot of use, they are both so much more than a gate and de-esser. With the recent release of TrackComp I’m super excited that Dave is finally putting his [Ed: unfinished!] PhD in nonlinear “stuff” to good use. It is an awesome achievement to have the finesse of a DMG plug in with the dirt and grime of yesteryear!

Are there any tips for using our plugins that you’d like to share?

Close your eyes when bypassing. Find ways not to let your brain trick you…

Use Equilibrium's right click between snapshots and auto-gain when trying out EQ on sounds.

What are you hoping to see from us in the future?

An amazingly implemented auto-gain on all plug-ins and more dirty stuff.
